Components

The components of the project

Optimization algorithm

Data of spot prize, prediction of energy usage and solar energy production is used to make an optimization of how much electricity to buy from the grid.

Model of household

A model of a residence house, with heating, hot water tank, solar panels and a electric vehicle is then used to calculate cost of electricity used to fulfill set requirements.

The electric Grid

The impact of households using this optimication is then applied to a typical residence electric grid.

About the project

This projects started off with inspiration from a master thesis made at the university in cooperation with the grid owners of Linköping, Tekniska verken. The idea was to investigate how an optimization of energy consumtion could minimize the load of the commersial electricity grid.
