Detecting faults in forklift systems adds value and saves time, knowing when service has to be done and on what parts of the system. Our group investigated if and how this could be achieved.
The project, given to us by Toyota Manufacturing Handling Sweden through Linköpings University, had a purpose of designing and validating a diagnostic system for the hydraulic system on their forklifts. The goal of a diagnostic system is to identify which faults are present in a system. By knowing which parts of the system to replace, a lot of time and resources can be saved.
Beside from the diagnostic system, also the effects of adding sensors on their forklifts, and what can be done with that addidtional information was studied.
